A school-ground arena built as a public-private partnership
ICE Arena stands in the grounds of a school on Borinská street in Lamač and was built as a public-private partnership: the investor, ZLL šport, leased the public land from the Bratislava-Lamač district and in return gives the district free ice hours.
There are two surfaces. The main one has Canadian dimensions, 27.8 by 56.5 m; the smaller one, originally a curling sheet, measures an unusual 11 by 50 m and serves the smaller training groups of the local hockey academy. Both are used for public skating, and on the smaller one visitors can try skating with a stick and a puck.
The youth club HC Lamač Bratislava plays here, the Central Europe Hockey Academy trains individual skills, and Piruetka runs six-week skating and hockey courses.
