Brussels' only permanent ice rink since 1966, a purely recreational rink with no clubs
Ice Skating Poseidon has been Brussels' go-to spot for recreational skating since 1966. After the Forest rink closed in 2008 it was the only place to skate in the Brussels Region, and the rink says it is the only one in Belgium where you can skate without any time limit every day of the week, public holidays and school holidays included.
It is a 100 percent recreational rink with no clubs: retirees, office workers on their lunch break and schools teaching their pupils to skate share the ice. Figure skates and hockey skates can be rented.
A kindergarten on ice lets toddlers skate in a safe environment, and the rink marks its 60th anniversary in 2026 with a weekend of events.
