An Olympic ice sheet with 1800 m² of ice, home to the Leuven Chiefs and Pirouette Leuven
Skateworld is the ice rink of Leuven: an Olympic ice sheet with 1800 square metres of ice, with a bar that looks along the full length of the ice. It is the home base of the ice hockey club Chiefs and of the figure skating club Pirouette Leuven.
The Chiefs were founded in 1993, won their first Belgian championship in 2005 and play their home games here. The club also runs recreational junior and senior hockey teams.
During public sessions, part of the ice can be fenced off for lessons led by instructors in cooperation with the house clubs. The Start 2 Skate programme is aimed at anyone who wants to learn to skate or skate better, children and adults alike.
