IJsbaan Heist is the home rink of Olympia Heist op den Berg, a Belgian ice hockey club founded in 1959. It has won eleven Belgian Hockey League championships, the first in 1979, on its twentieth anniversary. The club has also won the Belgian Cup twice, in 1994 and 2010. Children have been meeting figure skating in the club Die Swaene since 1972. Skaters in the club can take up figure skating either recreationally or competitively, with several coaches on hand.
The 2026-27 season opened on a Friday in late September, and the final public session is on 2 April; the rink is closed from mid-April to mid-September. The calendar includes Halloween skating from 2 to 8 November and Christmas on ice from 12 December to 3 January, and on Saturday evenings a live DJ and a light show turn the session into Disco On Ice.
