Loading public skate, freestyle, and stick & puck times for Lodowisko Torbyd…
The first Torbyd opened on 19 December 1959 and, according to Polish Wikipedia, was the fourth artificial ice rink in Poland after Katowice, Warsaw and Łódź. Its name lives on: in autumn 2017 residents chose Torbyd for the city's new rink in a competition run by the city, and the building opened officially on 5 January 2018.
The first ice hockey match was played on 14 January 2018, when BKS Bydgoszcz hosted Mad Dogs Sopot in the northern group of the second league. In its first month 27,000 people used the rink. The building cost 23.5 million zł.
The silver cladding of the building is meant to recall a crystal of ice. It covers 4,605 square metres, with an ice sheet of 1,779 square metres, and the rink lets more than 250 skaters on the ice at once. League hockey teams play on it and figure skaters train there.
