IJsvereniging Hard Gaat-ie: a sprayed 70 x 90 m rink at De Lier open to members and non-members alike

Public skating at IJsvereniging Hard Gaat-ie (Piet Keijzerbaan): the next 7 days

Currently out of season IJsvereniging Hard Gaat-ie's spray-ice rink, the 70 by 90 m Piet Keijzerbaan at Veilingweg 15B in De Lier, has no ice at the moment: the club's home page says the track is available for inline skating and that sign-up for membership is possible. In frost the club builds the ice with its spray installation and its news (26 January 2026) records the last attempt, when the rink opened briefly before the ice proved too soft. No sessions are listed here. Checked 11 October 2026. Official schedule update

A spray-ice rink of 70 by 90 metres in De Lier, run for 132 years by a club of over 3,000 memberships

IJsvereniging Hard Gaat-ie has offered skating in De Lier for 132 years. On its rectangular rink of 70 by 90 metres everybody is welcome, members and non-members alike, and the clubhouse serves koek en zopie.

In a frost the club makes the ice itself with a spray installation. Its news from January 2026 is candid about the process: the club managed to make a rink and was open for a short while, but the ice was thin and never became really hard, so the rink was closed at about half past nine.

The club says it was a good exercise for the sprayer to see how to spray in limited frost, and its goal now is to improve the spray installation, the BB-iceliner. Beyond the rink the club teaches 20 skating lessons on Saturday afternoons from October to March.
