A real-ice rink in front of the Deutsches Nationaltheater

Weimar on Ice puts a mobile real-ice rink of 510 square metres on the Theaterplatz, in front of the Deutsches Nationaltheater, where it runs around the Goethe and Schiller monument. It is now in its 12th year; before the Theaterplatz it stood on the Platz der Demokratie.

Several wooden huts that sell warm food and drinks stand directly beside the ice as a small winter village, with separate areas for eating. The rink promises a historic setting in the middle of Weimar's old town, where skaters circle under the eyes of Goethe and Schiller.

School classes can register for time slots on the ice, and the rink bills itself as a real-ice spectacle for the whole family. It is presented by the Erfurt showman's business TZVZ GmbH.
