An 800 m2 tent-covered rink on the Terrain rouge

Each winter Plan-les-Ouates sets up an 800 square metre rink on the Terrain rouge of the Pré-du-Camp school. For the 2026-27 edition the ice is protected by a tent that stays up all season, so skating no longer depends on the weather, and two skating platforms for people with reduced mobility are provided. The Cerebral Foundation, which has equipped nearly 90 rinks across Switzerland, counts the Plan-les-Ouates rink among its newest.

The Curling Club Trois-Chêne/Genève is a partner: the public and schools can try curling on the ice in January. Saturday afternoons are open to beginners in hockey.

The rink opens in early November and closes on 25 December and 1 January; the season is marked by a Roi et Reine tournament in January and ends in late February.
