Put into service on 8 December 2000

The rink of the Centre Sportif Sous-Moulin took shape after a vote in 1997, when 61% of voters backed the credit to build it and 55% of the citizens of the three communes took part. The building site opened in 1999 and the rink was put into service on 8 December 2000. The sports centre had already become, in 1985, the first intercommunal body of its kind under the Geneva law on communes.

It is one of three covered ice rinks in the canton of Geneva, with those at the Vernets and in Meyrin. The ice is approved for official ice hockey matches and also hosts many figure-skating competitions through the season. Its main users are two clubs from Chêne, the Club des Patineurs Trois-Chêne and the Hockey Club Trois-Chêne, together with schools of the area.

The main entrance of the rink was redesigned in 2010.
