The Grazer Winterwelt began in 2005 as a modest ice surface of 500 m² and now covers almost 3,000 m² at the Landessportzentrum. Besides skating, ice hockey and Eisstockschießen are played on the ice, and the 2025 opening unveiled a new illuminated stag sculpture.
In the 2024/25 season it counted about 150,000 visitors, among them around 48,000 pupils who moved their gym lessons outdoors with free entry. Dynamo Graz has given skating courses on the ice for many years, and hundreds of children have taken their first steps there.
Families, school classes, tourists and sports fans all find something to do there, and a refreshment area opens directly onto the ice. The rink lies in Graz's Stadtpark, at the foot of the Schlossberg, and its operators describe the ice as barrier-free.
