Eisbären Eppelheim bought the hall in 2000
The EC Eisbären Eppelheim was founded on 25 March 1983 as an ice hockey club at the gates of Heidelberg. Its first team won the championship title in the 1996/97 season, and in 2000 the club bought the ice hall and has run it with its own labour since then.
Under the club's roof sledge hockey is played by people with and without disabilities, and from September to April children aged 4 to 11 can learn to skate in a public skating school on Sundays. The hall is used by many clubs as a home, training and competition venue, and in the summer months it is available for events, fairs and indoor sports.
The club has cooperated for several years with the Mannheimer ERC so that children of all ages can play ice hockey, and it presents the public Saturday Eisdisco as its offer for young people and the young at heart.
