Kolín's seasonal rink on the Vodní svět grounds: a 20 by 40 metre ice surface from mid-November to mid-March

Each winter Vodní svět Kolín, the town's aquapark and sports grounds, turns its traffic playground into an ice surface. Where go-karts run in summer, skaters glide in winter. The operator describes the rink as measuring 20 by 40 metres and says a resurfacer looks after the ice, so it stays in good shape through the season.
The ice is used for public skating and, on request, can be hired as a whole for ice hockey. Skates in a wide range of sizes, from children's to adults', and helmets can be borrowed on the spot against a refundable deposit, and the operator sharpens skates on set days. Children under ten may go on the ice only with a parent or another responsible adult.
Because the rink is only set up for part of the winter, and its daily hours currently show it closed, it is worth checking the operator's page before making the trip at the start of the season.
