A steel-framed rink in Yanagimachi Park, home ice for Kushiro's junior and school hockey
KKS Kushiro Koseisha Ice Arena, also known as the Yanagimachi ice hockey rink, stands inside Yanagimachi Park. It is a steel-framed building, mostly single-storey with a small second floor, and it holds 384 spectators around one 30 by 60 metre ice sheet. Its footprint is about 3,200 square metres, with a total floor area of about 3,400.
The sheet is frozen with ice panels, a system the city also uses at its Nissho rink. The rink is open from June to March, closed on 31 December and 1 January, and the hours outside the public session are let to clubs and teams.
Public skating runs in the daytime on the days the foundation's monthly sheet shows it, between blocks for junior hockey teams, school teams and tournaments.
