Yutaka Ice Arena Kushiro is a two-storey reinforced-concrete hall on a site of about 17,000 square metres. Its single ice sheet measures 30 by 60 metres and is frozen with buried steel pipes, and the hall holds 2,539 seated spectators and 1,200 standing, 3,739 in all. The city opens the rink from July to March and closes it on 31 December and 1 January. Public skating is offered in the daytime, while early mornings, evenings and nights are given to private bookings by clubs, school teams and tournaments.
The monthly sheet of the Kushiro City Sports Foundation, which runs the rink, shows public sessions day by day between blocks given to junior hockey, school teams and league matches.
