An ice rink laid in the 1922 velodrome in 1964

The Patinoire de la Pontaise is a winter ice rink laid inside the Pontaise velodrome, which was built in 1922. The solution was realised in 1964; it looked provisional and did not end the debate over a covered rink, and a municipal commission took up the subject in the early 1970s.

The Pontaise lacked the possibility of adding stands for a rink to host ice hockey. It has one sheet of 60 by 26 metres with changing rooms, and the city calls it much appreciated by children and sports clubs. In the early evening part of the ice is open for free hockey.

In 2027 the rink is due to close from 17 January to 5 February for the European Figure Skating Championships.
