The village rink of Middelie, a 330 m land-ice track laid out in the middle of the village since 1880

IJsclub De Ondersteuning is the ice club of Middelie, with about 500 members, and with its founding in 1880 the oldest ice club in the municipality of Zeevang. The rink lies in the middle of the village.

It is a 330 metre track and a land-ice rink, which means that it is put under water in mid-November. Hoping for frost, it can then serve as an ice rink. In winter the club's events range from a skating tour to an ice hockey tournament, and in summer the club is active too.

In the autumn the club also gives skating training and lessons at the Westfries rink in Hoorn, starting on the first Friday of October. The club likes to keep people informed about its activities through its website, newsletter, Facebook and Instagram.
