Misawa's city rink, an official ice hockey rink with 1,585 seats
Misawa Ice Arena is the city-owned rink in the Minamiyama sports grounds in Misawa, with a 60 by 30 metre sheet of ice that the Japan Ice Hockey Federation recognises as an official rink, and 1,585 spectator seats. The Misawa City Autonomous Promotion Corporation runs it, together with a training room of fitness machines.
The arena is used for ice hockey, figure skating and short track, and the corporation runs figure skating classes. During public sessions jumps and spins are forbidden, and long-track speed skates may not be used on the ice.
Saturdays are free for elementary and junior high school children who live in the city, though tournaments and private hire can change the hours. The rink does not open on Wednesdays.
