Hachinohe's 400 metre indoor oval opened in 2019

YS Arena Hachinohe, the city's Nagane indoor skating rink in Nagane Park, opened on 29 September 2019. Its centrepiece is an international-standard 400 metre double-track speed-skating oval, and the hall also has an artificial-turf court and a multi-purpose court, a training room and meeting rooms. It hosts national and international competitions and doubles as a venue for concerts and conventions.

The building has three floors above ground and one below and stands 25.4 metres high, with a ceiling of about 15 metres, on a site of 62,274 square metres. The stands hold about 3,000 spectators, and the lounge has a cafe.

The skating season runs from late July to mid March, and the arena is used for other sports from April to June. A 16 by 16 metre mini rink for beginners is currently out of service, and general skating for the 2026-27 season is planned to start around November.
