A covered rink inaugurated in 1976 beside the Dranse, home of the Pingouins de Morzine-Avoriaz hockey club
No public skating is posted for the next 7 days. New sessions show here as soon as the rink posts them.
The ice rink of the Palais des Sports in Morzine, formerly called the Škoda Arena, was inaugurated in 1976. It is a covered 56 by 26 metre rink beside the Dranse, with a play area reserved for children, and it stages an ice hockey match every week.
It is the home of the Pingouins de Morzine-Avoriaz. The Hockey Club Morzine-Avoriaz is one of the oldest French clubs, created in November 1963. It trained at first on the Carroz d'Arâches rink until the commune bought boards from the Swiss club of Champéry in 1966. A youth team created in 1977 set hockey properly under way in the town, the seniors reached Nationale 2 in 1986 and the club won the French Nationale 2 title in 1990.
For its fortieth anniversary in 2003-04, the club fielded two senior teams in French championships for the third time in its history.
