Inaugurated in 1986 after hockey began on an open-air rink in 1969; home of the Scorpions de Mulhouse.
Ice hockey was born in Mulhouse in 1969 at the Association des Sports de Glace de Mulhouse, on the old open-air rink that stood where the skate park and tennis courts are now. In 1979 a leak in the refrigeration system reduced the ice to 30 by 30 metres, which ruled out hockey matches in town, and in 1980 the club gave up the championship and played friendlies only.
The current Olympic rink was inaugurated in 1986 and finally gave Mulhouse's hockey players a facility for serious play. It has a 60 by 30 metre ice surface and stands with 1,200 seats. A group of friends had founded the hockey side of the Association in 1975, and the first team took the name Scorpions in 1997.
The rink is a facility of the Mulhouse Alsace agglomeration. In May 2025 it hosted the final four of the Division 3 championship, which the Scorpions won, earning promotion to Division 2, the semi-professional level.
