Nishinomiya's year-round rink, with a main sheet and a small low-rail practice rink
Hyogo Nishinomiya Ice Arena describes itself as a place where you can skate all year round. The main rink is a 30 by 60 metre sheet that meets the international standard, and next to it is a small 10 by 30 metre rink with low rails, meant for small children and first-timers as well as lessons and private hire.
The building has three changing rooms, a self-service hire-skate corner with sizes from 15 to 30 centimetres, coin lockers, a rest corner, a sled corner and a counter for helmets and pads. Beginners can choose among several kinds of hire skate: double-runner skates, whose two blades make it easy for small children to balance, buckle skates for children who find laces hard, and hockey skates for sharp stops and turns.
The opening hours are posted on the rink's own calendar and can change by season, and the rink may close for maintenance or competitions.
