Ullernbanen is the home ground of Ullern Bandy, part of Ullern IF, which also runs basketball, handball and football. The club calls the arena the heart of its bandy and says it has one of the largest and finest ice surfaces in Norway, and it is proud to be a club for everyone, with its own girls' bandy programme, Divas.
The club describes the artificial ice as a popular meeting place for children, young people and families in the neighbourhood, where locals get fresh air, exercise and company. It wants to make it as easy as possible for local people to enjoy skating on a mirror-smooth surface, and says skating and bandy make a fine weekend activity for the whole family when there is no snow.
On weekday daytimes the rink is open to kindergartens, schools and the public, and in the afternoon the club's teams fill it for training and matches. Every Saturday and Sunday it is open to the public, and the club loves to see people of all ages swarming on the ice. A kiosk in the old red clubhouse at ground level serves the rink.
