Selb's ice hall, opened as the Hutschenreuther-Eissporthalle in 1978

The ice hall in Selb opened in 1978 as the Hutschenreuther-Eissporthalle, at a construction cost of more than seven million Deutschmarks. Work on a covered stadium had begun in 1977, and the town of Selb took the project over after financial problems. An open-air stadium for 3,000 on the Dürrloh had opened in 1958.

VER Selb, founded on 7 January 1953 after tennis club members began ice hockey and figure skating, still plays here, and the arena is home to the Selber Wölfe in the DEL2. Youth hockey, ice stock sport and roller and figure skating share the building, which has carried the NETZSCH name since 2012.

A renovation from 2019 to 2021 brought a new roof structure, a new refrigeration plant, new lighting and sound, and boards built to DEL2 rules. Construction of an extension began in July 2021, with the changing-room wing and event rooms finished in 2022, and in 2023 the catering and toilet areas were enlarged.
