Municipal ice hall built in 1993 for the EHC Stiftland Mitterteich

The Städtische Eishalle Mitterteich was newly built in 1993, the year the EHC Stiftland Mitterteich was founded. Hockey in the town began with a hobby team on the surrounding ponds, and the new club continued in the Bezirksliga Bayern in 1994-95 with the hall as its home.

The Dragons went up to the Landesliga Bayern in their first season and spent the next 14 years there, until relegation in 2010-11. After a runner-up finish in the Landesliga Nord in 2012-13 and a semi-final in the Bavarian Landesliga championship, they rose to the fourth-tier Bayernliga, the high point of the club's first 20 years. They withdrew from it at the end of 2013-14 and returned to the Landesliga in 2025-26.

OTV has made a film about the Dragons and the club, and a local reporter has followed their games and youth work for the Oberpfalz Echo since 2022.
