Ice hall finished in 2001 in a Husby sports cluster; one of only two Stockholm ice halls built as such
Husby ishall was finished in 2001, after a swimming hall had been built beside the older Husbyhallen in the late 1990s. The ice, sports and swimming halls form one connected cluster. Of Stockholm's ice halls, only Husby and the A hall at Stora Mossens IP were originally built as ice halls; the others began as outdoor rinks that were built over step by step.
Kista Hockey and the initiative Ishockey för alla use the hall. The initiative's training sessions, where young people try the ice alongside hockey players, usually engage hundreds of children, and its organiser says the point is that the activity is close to home. Kista Hockey's vice chair calls it one of Stockholm's finest halls.
In April 2025 a cooling fan broke and the hall closed early for the rest of the season. That cancelled Easter holiday activities on the ice and the Kista Hockey cup planned for teams from across Stockholm.
