An artificial-ice stadium built partly by volunteers, roofed in 1990 and rebuilt in 2009
Sušice's ice stadium was approved on 4 December 1974 by the West Bohemian regional national committee and opened at the end of 1978. Much of the work was done by volunteers: someone who wanted a kindergarten place for a child had to put in 180 hours on the site. The ice slab was poured in October 1976, and the first hockey match on the new ice was TJ Sušice against SK Mariánské Lázně.
The hall was roofed in stages. Work on the roof began in 1987 and Škoda finished the steel roof structure three years later, the walls were clad in 2000, and the building has been fully enclosed since 2003. Curling began on the ice in 2003.
The 2009 rebuild, partly paid from European Union funds, replaced the whole cooling system and the ice surface with its boards. A swimming pool was later built onto the stadium, and visitors enter through the shared reception of the sports complex.

Sessions marked 'with skating aids' (s hrazdičkami) are expected to have many small children on the ice; adults who no longer need aids may still come but should take care of the smallest, and aids cannot be borrowed at the sessions without that label.
