A 30 by 60 metre rink built for the 2006 Winter Olympics, open to the public on weekends
Pinerolo's Stadio Olimpico del Ghiaccio was built for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, where it hosted the men's and women's curling tournaments, from the round robin to the semi-finals and finals. It stands on Viale Grande Torino, about twenty minutes from Turin, and its rink is a regulation 30 by 60 metres, used for ice hockey and figure skating.
The hall was designed as a permanent ice palace for the town, with flexible spaces that could be converted after the Games, and it has stayed in use as an Olympic legacy. In 2025 it hosted the preliminary rounds of the men's ice hockey tournament at the Turin Winter Universiade, and the Palacurling next door plays about 300 matches a year.
Around the ice are a multi-purpose hall for concerts and fairs, a bar with an outdoor terrace and a gym added in 2025. Public skating runs on Friday nights and on weekend afternoons and evenings, and no booking is needed.
