Vänersborg's bandy arena, opened in 2009

Arena Vänersborg is an indoor hall for bandy at Vänersborg's sports centre. It opened at the end of September 2009, a few months later than expected, and its first event was the Westcoast Motorshow, a motor fair.

In winter it is used mainly as an ice hall for training and bandy matches. Vänersborg municipality owns it, and a contract of 4 March 2009 with the local club IFK Vänersborg set out how it is run. The older Vänersborgs isstadion, home ground of all three local bandy clubs (IFK Vänersborg, Blåsut BK and Vargöns BK) until 2008/09, stayed in use. Waste heat from the arena's cooling system warms the neighbouring Vänersvallen football pitch, which got artificial turf in 2008.

On 20 February 2010 about 100 square metres of the roof fell in under heavy snow; nobody was hurt, and the repair was finished on 24 March. The arena was the main arena of the men's Bandy World Championship in 2013 and again in 2019, and was named Årets bandyarena in 2013.
