Ice hall of 2013, joined to the Pingvinen pool complex in 2021
Varbergs Ishall was inaugurated on 28 September 2013 and holds 544 spectators. The municipal council had decided on 21 June 2011 that a new ice hall should be built in the Håsten district. It stands in the Håsten recreation area, where an ice hall, a pool, a gym and a café share one roof, and it is open from week 38 to week 13.
The new sports and leisure facility Pingvinen was inaugurated in September 2021 on the recreation area where the Håstensbadet pool used to be, and its new pool opened to the public on Saturday 4 September. The pool was joined to the existing ice hall to form one connected sports facility that is part of a larger sports cluster. In the entrance hall the ice hall and the pool hall lie on either side, and a sculpture by the artist Alvaro Campo in the entrance square interprets the Halland coastline.
