Opened on 20 October 2007 as Sweden's largest indoor arena used permanently for bandy
Currently out of season Västerås stad says public skating in ABB Arena Syd starts in week 44 (Monday 26 October 2026, the first day of the autumn break) and runs to the end of the season; the hall's Interbook GO calendar shows no public-skating times yet, so none are shown here. Checked on 11 October 2026. Official schedule update
ABB Arena Syd opened on 20 October 2007 and is Sweden's largest indoor arena used permanently for bandy, by floor area and by spectator capacity. It replaced Rocklunda Bandystadion, which opened on 2 December 1956 and was the first artificially frozen bandy pitch in Sweden. Västerås SK and Tillberga Bandy play their home games here.
The floor measures 8,400 square metres (120 by 70 metres) under a roof 24 metres high, with 12 metres of free height up to the lighting. Capacity is about 8,000 for bandy and 16,000 for concerts. Next to the hall lies Hakonplan, an artificially frozen outdoor bandy arena.
The arena hosted the 2008 Swedish Cup in bandy, the first time that tournament was played outside Edsbyn, and was a main venue of the 2009 men's Bandy World Championship. The Swedish Bandy Federation named it bandy arena of the year for the 2007-2008 season, and the men's and women's Swedish bandy finals were played here in March 2024.

Visitors can park in the car parks of the Rocklunda sports area, which are reserved for the area's visitors; if the one nearest is full, Rocklunda says it is fine to use another visitor car park.
