The 2019 hall that replaced Visp's Litterna rink

The Lonza Arena replaced the Litterna hall of 1979: planning for a new hall began in 2012, building started in March 2018 and the arena was finished in the summer of 2019. It was inaugurated on 6 September 2019 with a game against the SCL Tigers and is the home of the Swiss League club EHC Visp, with room for 5,150 spectators, 2,000 of them seated.

The hall was built to the Minergie standard for ice halls, with a CO2 ice system that uses no ammonia and puts waste heat to use. The ice surface sits at ground level while the stands are raised above it. The arena sold out for the first time on 28 October 2021, for the Valais derby against HC Sierre, and it also stages concerts: more than 3,000 visitors came to Trauffer's show in May 2023.
