A roofed outdoor rink in a children's park

Kodomo-no-Kuni opened in 1965 as a children's play park, and its skating rink is a large open-air rink under a big roof. Skaters circulate anticlockwise, and the buildings beside the ice include a nursing room, nappy-changing tables and a kiosk selling light meals.

On weekends, holidays and winter-holiday mornings during the season the park runs free, drop-in one-point lessons for beginners, covering how to stand, walk and turn on the ice. Groups of 20 or more can also take part in free skating on weekends, holidays and winter holidays, though not as a private hire.

Last winter the rink ran from 20 December 2025 to 23 February 2026. The park says this winter's information is still to come, so check its skating page before planning a visit.
