A municipal rink with a free-skating zone and a beginners' sub-rink
Sagamihara Ginga Arena has a 60 by 30 metre main rink, skated anticlockwise, that also hosts official ice hockey, short-track and curling matches. During public sessions a free zone in the middle lets skaters practise jumps and other moves that the skating lanes do not allow.
Beside it, an 18 by 14 metre sub-rink is recommended for beginners and for anyone nervous about the main ice. A gallery of 1,242 seats overlooks the ice for spectators, though the rink area is kept below 10 degrees, so warm clothes are advised for them as much as for skaters.
The new season opens on 20 October with a Skate Thanks Day on 24 October, when entry is free and only hire skates are charged for, and the operator's notice says this season ends on 31 March 2027.
