Zvolen's winter stadium came into service in 1969, when the ice surface and the machine room were built, and was roofed in 1976; a training hall followed in the 1980s. The city of Zvolen owns it and its tenant is Lesný podnik mesta Zvolen. The main surface measures 28.1 by 58.1 m and the training surface 30 by 60 m.
It is the home of the hockey club HKm Zvolen, whose deciding final game in the 2012/13 season drew 6,104 spectators.
The stadium has hosted the world junior championship in 1977, the under-16 and under-18 world championships in 2008 and the ball hockey world championship in 1999. Since 1999 the Memoriál Pavla Zábojníka, an international tournament for seniors, has been played here every August.
