Home of the Glasgow Clan since the 1990s

Braehead Arena was built in 1996 within the Braehead Complex. It was formerly the home of the Scottish Eagles ice hockey club and is now home to the Glasgow Clan of the Elite Ice Hockey League, the top professional league in the UK.

Between 1 and 9 April 2000 it hosted the Ford World Curling Championships for men and women, and from 2002 to 2008 it was home to the Scottish Rocks, Scotland's only professional basketball team. It has also staged ice shows, among them Dancing on Ice and the High School Musical ice show.

The Clan are the anchor tenant, and the club became the inaugural Gardiner Conference Champions in 2012/13. The Paisley Pirates of the Scottish National League also play here, in a centre with eight junior, recreational and university teams.
