A covered real-ice rink on Liverpool's Pier Head waterfront, in front of the Three Graces
Currently out of season Liverpool Christmas Wonderland is open at Pier Head every day from 20 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, except Christmas Day, with a covered real-ice rink. The first skating session is at 11:00 and the last at 20:00; sessions are 45 minutes and tickets are on sale now. Official schedule update
Liverpool Christmas Wonderland sets the only covered ice rink in the city at the heart of forty-five days of Christmas on the Mersey, in front of the Three Graces. The rink is real ice on the waterfront, and whatever the weather decides to do, your session goes ahead; there is a viewing platform along the side for spectators, and the Winter Club licensed bar is open all season.
The Pier Head covers the former George's Dock, built in 1771 as the third dock in Liverpool and too small and too shallow for the commercial ships of the late 19th century. When the sites were put up for auction in 1905 there were no bidders. The Pier Head was part of the former Liverpool Maritime Mercantile City UNESCO World Heritage Site, inscribed in 2004 and revoked in 2021.
Marshals are on the ice throughout every session, helmets are free for anyone who wants one, and Santa's Grotto offers a private meet and greet.
