Rebuilt after a fire in 1968, renamed for NHL player Bo Horvat, and the 2023 Kraft Hockeyville winner
West Lorne Arena was rebuilt after a fire in 1968 and has been a hub for the communities of West Lorne, Rodney and Dutton ever since. It has a single pad of ice, with boards renovated in summer 2026. Since the rebuild, the arena has been full every Friday, Saturday and Sunday with families on the ice or supporting behind the scenes.
NHL player Bo Horvat grew up at the arena. He started with the West Lorne Comets before moving up to the OHL's London Knights, and the building was renamed the Bo Horvat Community Centre in his honour. Three communities use the arena, and the communities sometimes operate as if they are separate.
West Lorne won the title of Kraft Hockeyville in 2023, which brought arena upgrades and the chance to host an NHL preseason game. The Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Buffalo Sabres 5-2 in front of a sold-out Joe Thornton Community Centre, and the prize money helped renovate the 55-year-old building.
