Opened in 1976 and substantially renovated in 2010
The Embro-Zorra Community Centre opened in 1976 and was substantially renovated in 2010. It is a hub for Embro and the surrounding area, with an arena whose 85 by 185 foot ice surface has seating for 600, plus a lobby with an open seating area and ice viewing area.
The centre also has a Community Hall with two rooms, used for wedding receptions, dances and other special events. Next to the building is a park with a playground, soccer pitches, a lawn bowling club and a pavilion.
A provincial grant announced in June 2025 is paying for a chiller replacement at Embro, along with waste heat desuperheaters and new LED lighting outside. The township said the work over the following two years would improve safety, enhance energy efficiency and ensure optimal conditions for ice programs.
