A 1975 arena and hall, home of the community-owned Thamesford Trojans

The Thamesford District Recreation Centre opened in 1975 and was renovated in 2000 and 2020. It is a hub for Thamesford and the surrounding area, with an arena whose 85 by 185 foot ice surface has seating for 350, and a park next door with a skate park, soccer pitches and beach volleyball courts.

The Thamesford Trojans play here. The club describes itself as one of the very last community-owned teams in the Yeck Division of the PJHL, and held its year-end awards banquet in the beautifully refurbished hall at the arena.

A provincial grant announced in June 2025 is paying for a condenser replacement at Thamesford, along with waste heat desuperheaters and new LED lighting outside. The township said the work over the following two years would improve safety, enhance energy efficiency and ensure optimal conditions for ice programs.
