Home rink of the Mid-Hudson Polar Bears
IceTime Sports Complex is a two-rink arena in Newburgh operated by the Mid-Hudson Civic Center, Inc., the Poughkeepsie organization whose plans date to the early 1960s. Professional hockey was played here in 2008, when the Hudson Valley Bears, a new Eastern Professional Hockey League expansion team, split their home games between the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie and the Newburgh rink.
The building holds two full sports rinks plus the RAPID SHOT hockey training system. From June through August the ice comes off rink 2 and it becomes a full-sized air-conditioned sports court. IceTime is home to the Mid-Hudson Polar Bears, a full travel hockey organization, and the Mid-Hudson Adult Hockey League splits its games between IceTime and McCann Ice Arena in Poughkeepsie. Open speed skating and open freestyle for figure and ice-dance skaters share the schedule.
Professional hockey returned in November 2024, when the Hudson Valley Venom of the Federal Prospects Hockey League moved their home games to IceTime. The stay was short: a November 22 game was postponed over problems with the building, the club was sold and renamed HC Venom, and by mid-December its branding had been removed from the rink and the remaining home dates cancelled. Hudson Valley Parent Magazine has named IceTime a Top Hudson Valley Ice Skating Rink.
