Poughkeepsie's civic-center rink

McCann Ice Arena is the ice half of the Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center in Poughkeepsie, a not-for-profit dual venue that pairs the rink with Mair Hall. The building opened in 1976 as the Mid-Hudson Civic Center, built as part of an effort to rehabilitate the city's central district, and the civic center announced its new name on December 3, 2018.

The arena seats 1,288 and has been a short-lived home for the Poughkeepsie Panthers and the Hudson Valley Bears, and in January 2025 HC Venom moved its remaining home games for that season here. Marist College hockey plays at McCann, as do the Mid-Hudson Vikings limited travel team and the Mid-Hudson Polar Bears and Lady Polar Bears.

For more than 30 years the rink has served youth organizations, leagues and recreational and competitive skaters alike. The same not-for-profit runs IceTime Sports Complex in Newburgh, and freestyle passes bought at either rink are valid at both.
