Warming house supervision is Monday to Friday 4 to 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday noon to 8 pm when school is in session, and noon to 8 pm on school-release days (Dec. 24 and 31 noon to 4 pm, Dec. 25 closed), weather and ice permitting (last winter's schedule).

Rick Sorenson Park has a large general skating rink and two hockey rinks, with a four-season activity building that serves as the warming house. Loaner ice skates are kept at its warming house.

The city bans hockey sticks on the general rinks, horseplay, loitering, profanity, tobacco use and throwing snow on the ice or in the building. Rinks cannot be flooded in extreme cold, extreme warmth or high winds.
