The Whitt, UNH's hockey home since 1995

The Whittemore Center Arena, known colloquially as The Whitt, opened in November 1995 on the University of New Hampshire campus in Durham and was dedicated to Frederick B. Whittemore and his family on May 5, 1996. It stands beside its predecessor, Snively Arena, and UNH Campus Recreation has managed it since the 2007 academic year.

The Wildcats men's and women's hockey teams play their home games on the ice, which began as a full Olympic-sized sheet and was reduced to almost NHL size in a 2022 renovation. UNH and the Whittemore Center have hosted the NCAA Women's Frozen Four in 2002, 2005, 2016 and 2024.

Inside, the lobby is decorated with portraits of past men's and women's All-American hockey players, and a high-definition center-hung scoreboard was unveiled in September 2015.
