1974 city arena with a 200-by-85 sheet and 800 bleacher seats, home ice for Manchester West and Merrimack
No public skating is posted for the next 7 days. New sessions show here as soon as the rink posts them.
West Side Arena was completed in 1974 under Mayor Sylvio Dupuis, and Manchester's Parks and Recreation department still runs it today. Stick & Puck runs here, while the city's public skating is scheduled at its other arena, the John F. Kennedy Coliseum.
The ice is a full 200-by-85-foot sheet inside a 216-by-118-foot building, with bleacher seating for 800 spectators. New Hampshire College, now Southern New Hampshire University, and Saint Anselm College both once used the arena as home ice. Today the home teams are the Manchester West and Merrimack high school hockey programs, and the Over 40 Hockey League and the Industrial Hockey League also call the building home.
The building was upgraded in the summer of 2003 with new lighting, dehumidification, a Low-E ceiling and handicap accessibility. A new refrigeration system followed in the summer of 2023.
