Community-maintained outdoor rink with permanent boards and lights at the Corkery Community Centre
For the latest skating dates, check the rink’s official information.
The outdoor rink at Carrol Homestead Community Park sits beside the Corkery Community Centre, at the corner of Old Almonte and Corkery roads in Ottawa. The City of Ottawa lists it as a boarded rink with a community building, permanent boards and permanent lights, and the ice is maintained by the community rather than by city crews. The Corkery Community Association runs it; in 2020 the association's vice president was also the rink boss.
In October 2020 the association confirmed the rink would open for the 2020-21 season, which made Corkery the second Ottawa community association to commit to running its outdoor rink through the COVID-19 winter. That same month it surveyed skaters about adding a separate no-sticks "puddle rink" beside the original rink, and most respondents said they would skate more often with one.
The community centre next to the ice was expanded in a project that ran into construction delays, and the outdoor rink stayed open through them with help from Ottawa Fire Services' Station 84. In 2026 the newly expanded Corkery Community Centre held its grand opening, with the association's board members credited for seeing the project through. The ice itself is still community-maintained, not the City's.
