Opened in 1990 with an eight-rink curling hall; Perth Curling is based on its ice.
Dewars Centre opened in 1990 as Perth's leisure and conference centre, and it is best known for curling. Its eight-rink hall has Olympic-standard ice and regularly holds national and international competitions, with players travelling from all over the world. In early 2023 it hosted the Scottish Curling Mixed Doubles Championship, whose winners go on to represent Scotland at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship.
Perth Curling is based at the centre. The same ice is used for public skating and ice hockey, and the Perth Figure Skating Club trains here. The building also has two 1,300-seater halls for conferences and exhibitions. Live Active Leisure, which runs sports and leisure facilities across Perth and Kinross, operates it.
The centre came close to closing in 2023, when soaring energy costs put it and the neighbouring leisure pool under threat. Live Active Leisure agreed measures to keep both venues open for the following 12 months.
