Philadelphia's NHL-sized waterfront rink

Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest is an NHL-sized outdoor ice rink on the Delaware River Waterfront, with views of the river and the Ben Franklin Bridge. The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation counts more than 33 seasons of Philadelphia winters here.

The rink sits inside a larger winter site with a signature holiday tree, a lodge, heated cabins and fire pits, and, from December, a Ferris wheel and indoor arcade. In summer the rink is converted to roller skating under the name SummerFest, and Fireworks Skating Academy gives lessons on the ice in 2026.

The 2026-27 season opens November 27 with a weekend that includes the Holiday Tree Lighting on Sunday, November 29, and runs through February 28. On January 31 the rink hosts a free day of skating for America's 250th birthday. Work on the new Park at Penn's Landing is under way next door.
