Opened in 1998 with two NHL-size sheets, and kept open in 2018 after a closure had been announced
Mountain View Ice Arena opened in 1998 in Vancouver, Washington, with two NHL-size sheets of ice, at the time the only operation with two. The 69,000-square-foot building was sold in 2006 to a company formed on behalf of Portland-based City Bible Church, which took over a portion of the building, including one of the ice rinks. The 2006 plan kept the rink's bleachers, which seat about 300.
In early April 2018 the owners announced the rink would close. On June 8, 2018 they announced it would stay open instead, after City Bible Church elders approved the building's sale and dropped the church's plan to build a school in its place. It is Vancouver's lone ice rink.
The Portland Ice Skating Club, a U.S. Figure Skating club founded in 1938, uses Mountain View as its home rink. The Vancouver Youth Hockey Association, a non-profit affiliated with the Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey Association, runs its Vancouver Junior Rangers teams out of the building. The Mountain View Speed Skating Club, which promotes competitive speed skating in the Portland and Vancouver area, is based here as well. On March 13, 2026 the arena and Bridge City Inclusive Sports put on a free Try Sled Hockey day with Paralympic gold medallist Rico Roman.
