Three NHL-size rinks in Fairport, open since January 1989 and home ice of St. John Fisher's hockey teams
Rochester Ice Center opened in Fairport in January 1989. It credits its steady growth to the rising popularity of ice hockey, figure skating and recreational skating, and today it runs three full-size rinks year-round alongside Next Level Strength and Conditioning.
The third rink was added in collaboration with St. John Fisher University, whose Cardinals men's and women's hockey programs call the building home. The facility holds up to 2,200 spectators, with a video board, heated seating areas and two press boxes. The main rink alone seats 1,000, and the stands in the feature rink are heated.
Beyond public skating, the building runs adult hockey leagues all year, spring youth hockey leagues, a learn-to-skate program and a figure skating club, and it houses an elite training center called The Academy.
