A downtown rink in Kiwanis Memorial Park beside the Delta Bessborough

The Cameco Meewasin Skating Rink @Nutrien Plaza sits in Kiwanis Memorial Park, next to the historic Delta Bessborough Hotel, and Meewasin says it has become a staple of winter life in the city. Access to the ice is free for everyone, which Meewasin says is made possible by sponsors Cameco, Nutrien and DTNYXE together with the City of Saskatoon.

Meewasin Valley Authority, a non-profit that relies on donations and volunteers, runs it. The 2025-26 season drew over 15,000 visitors, and the rink normally operates from mid-December to mid-March depending on weather. Skaters of every level are invited, from first-timers to triple toe loop practitioners, and a 19-plus Sip & Skate event gives adults exclusive access to the ice with wintry drinks and snacks.
